POSTER DESIGN YOU

UPDATE: PROJECT FINISHED!

Sorry for the terrible Soviet Russia joke, I couldn't help myself.

In any case, this is a series of travel posters for St. Petersburg, Russia. I know this looks more like graphic design than illustration, but I have been having a kind of strange graphic design sensibility lately. As in, if given the chance to do something simple instead of complex, i'll choose simple and understated.

Anyways, I have the intended six posters:

The silhouettes of the statues are all various historic landmarks in St. Petersburg in this order: St. Peter himself, memorial to the siege of Leningrad, Mother Motherland Statue, Alexander Column, Nicholas I monument, and Alexander III Monument.

Fine Arts

Here's some silliness I did from last semester's Fine Art Illustration class.

These are all model drawings or paintings from class.

This was a homework assignment that was "your reaction to a song." I did a reaction to Weather Report's "Black Market."

More!

Here's another assignment for Character design - a Fly in a hospital. Prompt generated from this site! It's got tons of character and scene inspiration prompts.

Poor little fly guy. He's drawn in pencil and colored in photoshop.

Also, here's a silly poster I designed for MICArotica's upcoming issue (which all MICA students should submit to, by the way!!!!)

It's just a little quick thing - flexing my fledgling graphic design skills.

Woo!

Mo' Demons

Soooo here are the other two characters in my four-part character assignment! (first post here.)

This is the Demon of downloading music illegally (Also known as the free-music succubus :D)

And this guy is the demon of double-dipping and sticking your fingers in other peoples' food... hehe.

Again, these are all drawn in graphite, then scanned and colored in photoshop (starting to see a pattern here?)

Here's their character sheet all together for size reference:

Moooore

Another photo from the Langham hotel in Pasadena. I like this one cause the negative got crinkled, and it kind of looks like an old postcard or something. Looks almost too perfect to be real.
